This was very helpful for planning the trip. My only complaint, and it was significant, is that it didn't give a hint of how crowded and traffic-tied the whole Carmel area is (and honestly how the whole town seems to be a big tourist shop). We spent a huge amount of time in Carmel and simply trying to pass by it and I would have a heads up so we could have planned around it.
We have made good use of the book and it is a good overview of activities. The prices we had to pay for accommodations were 30% to 50% more than given in the book. Only a few, unique restaurants per locale ear listed, and we searched the internet to get a full range of options.
